Twenty years ago when we first founded Cedar Rapids Zen Center (we're a Buddhist Temple), Church Mutual was about the only company who would insure an organization so small and new as we were.  Since then, we've always had fine service from them. Our roof was damaged by the derecho that blew through Iowa in early August, and when I called I reached an agent almost immediately.  The adjustor was out a few days later and I received the damage report and the check about two weeks after that.  We're now calling roofers. I've also had other interactions with Church Mutual folks and they've always been professional and helpful.  We have to do an audit for our workers' compensation each November and my questions and worries have always been addressed with clarity and good cheer. I'd recommend Church Mutual to any religious organization needing insurance of any kind.
